March's Mood Board Monday Uses Moody Florals

I feel like this time of year is such a grab bag of weather as we transition from the colder months to the sunnier Spring season. What better way to replicate this temperamental time of year than with a moody blend of florals and rich colors in this month’s Mood Board Monday.

The inspiration for this design started with the wallpaper. When I discovered it I instantly fell in love and knew I needed to use it in one of my designs. This bedroom presented the perfect opportunity! I chose a solid yellow bedspread to accentuate the colors in the room without adding any distracting patterns. Moody green curtains add to the overall tone of the room and timeless gold accents add a layer of sophistication. The paint colors are a mix of neutrals and bold colors that blend with the wallpaper. The client wanted extra paint options to color some existing furniture so I chose a spicy red appropriately named “Sririacha”. For contrast I chose throw pillows with in lighter pastels. The overall look is reminiscent of a modern victorian home.
