June's Mood Board Monday - From Idea to Reality

This month’s mood board is a little different in that I am also sharing the finished room! I do a lot of on-line designs so I don’t always get to have professional photos of the finished products. This month however I chose to feature the guest bedroom in our new house in Atlanta!

Pur dog Mabel wanted to make a guest appearance. She’s so cute, I couldn’t refuse.

My husband and I just moved to to the south and so far we are loving it! One of the first things I wanted to do in our new home was get the guest room ready for friends and family. Once the world goes back to normal I want everyone near and dear to us to know they are welcome and there is a room waiting for them!

I still need to add artwork above the desk, but it’s coming along!

The guest room will also double as my office space so I have a small desk in the corner and commandeered one of the two closets in the room for all my work items. The desk came with silver legs, so I spray painted them gold. I also have a pink desk chair that is suppose to arrive any day now! (In the meantime I am using one of our dining room chairs.) I chose peachy pinks and girly items I probably would not have chosen otherwise-I try to make my husband not feel like he is living in a high school girl’s bedroom :) But since this room is all mine-I went with it!

I fell in love with this bedspread from target and its fringed tassels, the quilt adds a lovely contrast of colors while still fitting in with the overall theme. I replicated the peachy tones in the quilt for a statement wall (which saved me from having to re-paint the entire room) and chose white and gold furniture for a classy touch.

Later I will be adding gold tape to the closet doors for a fun decorative accent…so keep an eye out for that update and tutorial!
